The admiral Illarion Povalishin
In spring of the year 2004 on the place of the former church excavations in Yankovichy village was disclosed a crypt. It was the grave of the admiral. The proof of that was the marble plate with the inscription.
Illarion Povalishin was born on the 13th of October in 1739 in a family of a noble man in Ryasan province. Illarion studied at Navy military school in Saint Petersburg and then at the Navy Academy.
After the graduation from the Academy he successfully served on the ships in Baltic Navy. He participated in many war events. After the heroic service he was thanked by the government and rewarded the sward with the diamonds and 600 peasant people in Polotsk province.
