The straw braiding work

This old time handicraft revived in Rossony region not so long ago. It happened thanks to the group of people who worked at the Regional Handicraft Center in the year 2005.

Every year since all schoolchildren are invited to come and make a group of 10-15 people who are eager to learn straw braiding work. There are also excursions held for primary school children and other volunteers as well.

 

 

 

 

 

Olga Sorokinalearnt the craft herself and then initiated the work and now she is the head specialist and a methodist on the topic at the Regional Handicraft Center.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nelly Radskograduated from the Vitebsk State Collage of Arts and now supervises the straw braiding work courses at the Handicraft Center since 2005.
